I left the car windows down on my Civic to air the car out in the afternoon and it started raining early the next morning. My house mate’s dad told me that my windows were down on my car and it was raining, so I ran outside - only to find that mother nature had decided to clean the inside of my car!
The photos above are of a system that my air-con tradesmen house mate hooked up using the air con ducts that he had lying around from an old job.
Thankfully, several hours of running air-conditioning through my car from a big industrial refrigeration system and a couple of 30 minute stints of my own car air-con worked a treat and got the majority of the water out of the vehicle.
Yuck that is a sad story getting your new car full of water. Pay attention to the footwells, they are the lowest point and there is some sound deadening blanket under the carpet which could still be wet - that happened to me when I thought the car had been dried - my car began to smell mouldy and the carpet went white in one corner of the footwell

I am trying to guess - maybe rain leaked into your car and your flatmate (ET) had ideas on how to dry it using HVAC technology?
