Mac OS X Tools
Sequel Pro
One of the tools that I use on a daily basis, is Sequel Pro. Pronounced SQL Pro (using a traditionally american pronunciation), it is the best native Mac OS X application that I have used for managing MySQL databases.
Features include browsing databases, modifying tables and their structure, and it can even handle thousands of lines of queries. Keeping true to the Mac ideology, Sequel Pro is a sturdy application and has a distinctive Mac OS X Leopard application look and feel to it.
Sequel Pro is suitable for anyone working with MySQL databases, whether you are working on small web development projects or a database with 100 tables and hundreds of megs of data.
For Web Developers, Sequel Pro easily trumps PHPMyAdmin when it comes to speed. Based on the abandoned CocoaMySQL project, which ended at version 0.7 beta, the new developers have continued the legacy of CocoaMySQL and have continued the version road map, releasing version 0.8; which is the latest version according to the developer website.
Overall, Sequel Pro is a great app for managing MySQL databases in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Download Sequel Pro here.
